WEDDING TABLE DECORATIONS WITH THE WOW FACTOR
If you're in the process of planning a wedding, it's likely your 'to do' list is longer than your veil! There's a lot to get done before the big day, and you shouldn't allow it to become stressful - the planning can be all part of the fun!
Your Wedding Reception
One of the tasks on your list could be to decide on table decorations. Whilst that might sound simple, it does require some thought and imagination to make it extra special. Flowers are a given, but what else can you use to make your wedding reception a little different?
The WOW Factor
Probably the first question to ask is, do you have a theme? If so, do you want your table decorations to reflect that theme? What you're trying to create here is the 'wow' factor! You want your guests to walk into the reception area and immediately notice the stunning wedding tables.
Now, as we all know, the 'wow' factor has to be handled carefully. It's easy to get carried away and overdress the tables, creating the OMG factor instead!
Start With The Basics
Here are some basic ideas to get you started:
• Tablecloths and runners
• Chair sashes
• Table scatters / petals
• Lighting / candles / lanterns
• Flowers / plants
• Place cards
Customising Your Wedding
Of course, each of those categories has multiple variants, too, so the choice is endless. However, at this stage, the decorations could be seen as quite impersonal. So what can you do to make your wedding guests feel special?
It may be YOUR big day but it's important to remember that friends and family have travelled from far and wide to share in your joy; making them feel appreciated and loved will make the day extra special.
Custom Pins
This is a lovely idea that is quite economical. Each guest receives a personalised pin or button, attached to their place card. This not only makes your guests feel loved, but it's an excellent conversation starter, too.
Personalised Place Cards
Instead of a simple card, with your guests' names handwritten or printed, how about mini blackboards, with the names written in chalk? Supply extra chalk for guests to play, and take home.
Personalised Place Card Holders
Rather than laying the place cards flat on the table, why not order business card holders, that your guests can take away and use for work? Better still, have them monogrammed with the guest's initials, making a handsome gift to remember your big day by.
Monogrammed Keyrings
Or how about doing away with place cards altogether, and using monogrammed keyrings instead? What a great idea. A well made, leather keyring will last for years, reminding family and friends of that wonderful day every time they use their keys.
These are just a few great ideas to consider for your wedding table decorations. The really important thing to remember is to have fun, and make it a day you'll remember forever.
